Gore-Tex was invented in 1969. It is a waterproof, breathable and windproof fabric membrane can repel liquid water while allowing water vapour to pass through. It is designed to be a lightweight, waterproof fabric for all-weather use Gore-Tex is vigorously tested for reliable protection even in demanding conditions it makes these product so popular used in the production of outdoor jackets, trousers, boots, etc. It is composed of stretched polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which is more commonly known by the generic trademark Teflon.
How It Works
The GORE-TEX contains pores smaller than a water droplet, but larger than a water vapor molecule. So rain and snow can’t get in, but sweat can get out.
